I am Britta the founder of Beautiful journeys. I went on my first journey to India in 1998, and since then I have done over 20 trips – I have lost count!
I have travelled solo and with small groups, from budget to luxury trips. My son Jam has shared many of my journeys, from his earliest years, and also now my partner Chetan, who hails from Punjab, India. Some trips were a few weeks or months and once we stayed 8 months. I am still captivated by India’s people, colours, traditions, extremes, spirituality – and of course the food.
I also have a love of arts and craft so aside from our craft tours my passion for Indian culture is further manifested in my other side-gig, bhumi & pari. This is an Indian-inspired clothing and accessories business, which showcases my fascination and admiration for the vibrant traditional arts that are from India.
Beautiful Journeys has come from my love of travel. I want to share some of the amazing experiences I have had in India and beyond with you.
Meet our team
Antriksh - Tour host
Antriksh, known as Kaku to his friends, is an experienced tour guide across India. Kaku grew up in Jaisalmer, helping out in his uncle's hotel and camel safari business, learning the tourist trade. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish and speaks a bit of German. When Kaku is not on the road, he is at home with his family including wife and his 4 kids. We have known Kaku for over 15 years - he was a teenager when we met him!
Nitin - Tour host
Nitin is an experienced hotelier and tour guide. Hailing from the Punjab, Nitin has extensive experience manging hotels in Rajasthan including Rawla Khempur hotel better known as the location for the movie 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'. He is fluent in English. When Nitin is not on the road, he is at home with his family including wife and his son. We have known Nitin for over 10 years and travelled with him in Rajasthan.
Hemant - Transport guru
Hemant grew up in of family of hospitality pioneers in Jaisalmer. He has extensive experience in the hotel business. He now runs his own transport business. You may not meet Hemant on your trip but he will be in the background making sure your transport is comfortable and drivers are safe, knowledgeable and efficient. Hemant lives with his wife and 2 kids. We have know Hemant for almost 20 years - he was a kid when we met him!
